A Quick Way to Tell if Your BPI Version Is Y2K Compliant

March 23, 1999 -- Many BPI Accounting users are thinking about Y2K issues now, and some are not sure if their version of BPI is Y2K ready.

Here is a quick way to determine what version of BPI you are using and if that version is Y2K ready:

In Windows 95 or 98, click on Start/Programs/MSDOS Prompt. In other versions of Windows or in DOS itself, get to a DOS prompt.

If your BPI programs are installed on a drive other than the one shown in the DOS prompt, change drives to the drive where BPI is installed (for example, if BPI is installed on the F: drive, from the C:\WINDOWS> prompt enter F:

Then enter the following:

type  \bpies\revision.sy

This will display the version of BPI that you currently have installed.

If the version is 5.0, then your BPI installation is Y2K compliant. If the version shown is 4.0 or lower, then your BPI installation is not Y2K compliant.
