Avoiding Rekeying BPI Data

December 3, 1999 -- Been thinking about converting from BPI Accounting to a Windows-based accounting package, but you're worried about the amount of rekeying you'll have to do? Don't worry.

21st Century Accounting features a built in, one step data conversion command that converts account lists, account balances, and transaction detail. C21 is the only BPI upgrade option that can bring over your complete set of data -- transactions and all.

This makes it possible for you to compare C21 reports to BPI reports right away. It saves you days of time otherwise spent rekeying data. And it speeds up your learning curve, because the screens and reports will contain information that is already familiar to you, so you'll get comfortable with the new software faster.

Here's what the data conversion command in C21 looks like:

Then you simply select the set of BPI data you want to convert...

...and C21 converts the BPI accounts, balances, and transactions. It's as easy as that. It does not change your original BPI data or BPI programs at all, so you can continue running BPI parallel with C21 for a while if you like.

The data conversion command only works for versions 4.0 and 5.0 of BPI. Users of earlier versions would need to have their data converted for them.
